The following is the real-life
story of Jeannie, a DIEP Flap patient.
Dr. Allen,
I wanted to write you a note to tell you how very pleased I have been
since my surgery that you completed in July of last year. It has truly
changed my life! You will never know how grateful and blessed I feel
to have been able to have you perform this surgery for me. I just
saw my Gynecologist, Dr. Ann LaFranca last week for my annual check-up.
She was absolutely amazed at the results of my surgery. She would
like to have the operative report for her files. She said to tell
you that she would like to refer her patients to you; she has never
had a patient here in Baton Rouge that had the results that I have.
Several of her patients had the Tram Flap procedure, but she has never
seen anyone who had the DIEP flap; she was truly surprised at the
outcome.
My Oncologist, Dr. Gerald Miletello was also stunned when I saw
him for my regular visit in October of last year. Dr. LaFranca even
joked about the fact that she would like for you to do a breast
augmentation for her personally using the DIEP Flap method! She
could not get over the softness of my breast tissue. I gave her
your business card but she wanted me to give you her address and
phone number. She is very interested in knowing more about your
procedures for breast reconstruction.
Again, thank you so very much for your artistry as a surgeon, your
kindness and generosity as a person. Neither I, nor my son Jared
will ever forget you and Claire. When I mention your names, his
face lights up; he always comments about how very genuine you both
are. I have to agree with Jared, I will never forget you, Claire,
Sandy, Michelle, your staff. I feel so blessed to have had my surgery
while you were still located in New Orleans. I wish you and your
family the best. I constantly recommend you whenever the occasion
arises. Please tell Dr. Levine that I said hello.
P.S. I forgot to tell you that I met a wonderful man and that I
am getting married in July of this year. I have been divorced for
14 years. I am so happy; I feel that you have given me back my femininity.
