REVIEW USI began my training with a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from New York University (2001) and an M.D. from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans (2005), followed by a residency in general surgery at Brown University (2009-2014). In 2014 I returned to my home state to work as a general and breast surgeon at Ochsner Medical Center, New Orleans. I spent 4 years optimizing my skills in oncoplastic breast surgery, in which cancer is removed and the breast artistically reconstructed for optimal aesthetic results. During that time, I stood beside women as they faced a breast cancer diagnosis, leading them through treatment and performing the life-saving surgeries that would change their bodies forever. But over time, I felt called to do more—not just to remove disease, but to help restore what was lost. I decided to pursue a new path of plastic surgery. After nine years as a general surgeon, I made the uncommon decision to resume training with a three-year fellowship at Louisiana State University in plastic and reconstructive surgery, focusing on microsurgery and breast cancer reconstruction (2018).
Since graduating from plastic surgery fellowship in 2021, I have become a board-certified plastic surgeon with a unique foundation in both microsurgical and aesthetic breast reconstruction. I am currently the only female surgeon in Louisiana performing complex microvascular and cosmetic breast procedures on a regular basis. My journey into this field has been shaped not only by my surgical training, but also by a deep personal understandingof the women I care for.
Today, I am proud to offer my patients the highest level of reconstructive expertise, with outcomes that are not only safe and functional, but also have an elegant, elevated aesthetic. Techniques like autologous tissue microvascular reconstruction allow me to rebuild the breast using a patient’s own tissue, preserving muscle function and creating results that look and feel natural. We have refined this technique over the past several years to have successful outcomes despite prior abdominal surgery or nonstandard anatomy. As a mother of three, I deeply understand the feminine form and the emotional complexity of reclaiming one’s body after cancer. My approach to breast reconstruction is grounded in compassion, technical precision, and an appreciation for femininity. I am expanding my practice to serve the Destin area and surrounding Gulf Coast communities, where there is a significant lack of access to complex microsurgical breast reconstruction—often within a 200-mile radius.
My mission is to bring expert, patient-centered care closer to home, so that every woman has access to the most advanced options for healing, restoration, and beauty on her own terms.
